BSF NORTH BENGAL RAISES CONCERNS REGARDING TRAFFICKING OF GIRLS WITH NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR WOMEN (NCW).

On 20th August’ 2025, Dr. Archana Majumdar, Member National Commission for Women (NCW) held a discussion with Sh Mukesh Tyagi, IG BSF North Bengal regarding rising incidents of trafficking of girls in West Bengal border areas and to explore stronger coordination with BSF. Members of Anti Human Trafficking Units (AHTU) of BSF North Bengal and all Officers of Ftr HQ BSF Kadamtala attended the programme. Members of  Sevak Kendra Siliguri, Shakti Vahini Siliguri and Trinity India Trust Siliguri were also present in the discussion.  
BSF AHTUs presented their functioning, achievements and constraints of duty and highlighted notable cases. Dr. Archana Majumdar lauded the efforts undertaken by BSF AHTUs in rescuing of girls from traffickers and appreciated their achievements. She assured cooperation and monitoring of cases reported by BSF to NCW for fast action and disposal. She also discussed about institutional setups and role of NGOs actively involved in rescue, rehabilitation, counselling and vocational training to victims. 
IG BSF assured the Member NCW of best cooperation, coordination and efforts by BSF with all agencies in the humanitarian cause and extended gratitude to Dr. Archana Majumdar for her initiative.
