MAJOR GENERAL RAJESH A MOGHE, VSM, APPOINTED AS THE GOC BENGAL SUB AREA.


Major General Rajesh A Moghe, Vishisht Seva Medal, a third generation army man, takes over the charge of General Officer Commanding (GOC), Bengal Sub Area on 01 Feb 2024.
The General was commissioned into the Second Battalion of the Mechanised Infantry Regiment (1st Royal Jat Light Infantry) in August 1988 from Officers Training Academy, Chennai. The General Officer has attended Tank Technology Course, Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Command & Staff College Course in Indonesia, Higher 
Defence Management Course (HDMC) and Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS) Course in United Kingdom (UK). The General Officer has served in various Operational environments to include Operation Parakram and Operation Zafran.
His command and staff tenures include Command of a Mechanised Infantry 
Battalion in Obstacle Ridden Terrain, Brigade Major and General Staff Officer-1 (Operations) of a Mountain Brigade in Counter Insurgency Operations in Jammu & Kashmir, Colonel General Staff (Operations) of an active Corps in Eastern Command, command of an Armoured Brigade in the desert sector, Brigadier Army Standing 
Establishment Committee (ASEC) at the Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence 
and the Brigadier General Staff (Operations) of a Strike Corps.
He has been an Instructor Class B at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, Instructor Class A at the School of Armoured warfare, Ahmednagar and Directing Staff at the College of Defence Management Secunderabad & a Senior Instructor at the National Defence College. The General Officer is fluent in many languages, is an avid bird watcher and a keen biker.
