TRISHAKTI CORPS CELEBRATES KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS.

Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated each year on 26 Jul 2022 to mark India’s victory over nefarious designs of our adversary during the Kargil War of 1999. To apotheosize the supreme sacrifice made by our bravehearts to vindicate the Honour of Tricolour and countribution made by Indian Army, Trishakti Corps organised a series of events as part of Kargil Vijay Diwas 2022.

The events included motivation lectures by Kargil War Hero Subedar Mehar Singh, Vir Chakra in various schools of Gangtok on 26th & 28th Jun. Shaurya Utsav was celebrated on 16th July at Sukna, wherein, Veer Naris & War Heroes were felicitated by Lt Gen Tarun Kumar Aich, AVSM, GOC Trishakti Corps.

A tree plantation drive was carried out on 23 July at Sevoke Military station, wherein, plants dedicated to War Heroes were planted by the Veer Naris.

On 26th July 2022, school children laid wreaths at the Trishakti War Memorial & visited the Trishakti Heritage Complex. Wreath laying ceremony along with Flag hoisting was also organised at Batasia War Memorial, Darjeeling. In another event at Bengdubi Military Station, the school children visited the Captain Vikram Batra, Param Vir Chakra Motivation Hall. Students were thrilled to meet decorated war hero Subedar Mehar Singh, Vir Chakra and the first hand account shared by JCO filled young minds with pride and passion for the olive green. The students were also given an insight into various weapons and equipments of Indian Army as part of ‘Know Your Army’ campaign. Students were also briefed about various entry schemes to join armed forces and they showed keeness to serve the nation with utmost humility and passion. In the afternoon, special screening of Shershah movie was also conducted for the students.

The aim of this event was to inspire and motivate our future generations and give them an insight into the bravery and sacrificies made by our bravehearts and ensuring national honour and integrity. Our future generations must know the valiant acts and supreme sacrifices made by our brave soldiers in service of the Nation and Tricolour. These events will not only motivate our young minds but will also inspire them to become responsible citizens and contribute towards nation building.
