119 Inf Bn (TA) ASSAM Contributes to Environmental Conservation on World Environment Day.

As part of its ongoing efforts to promote environmental sustainability, 119 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) ASSAM organized a sapling plantation drive at Kench's Trace location on World Environment Day. The event was held on June 5, 2025, and saw the enthusiastic participation of local dignitaries and unit personnel.

The plantation drive resulted in the planting of 500 saplings within the location, furthering the unit's commitment to preserving the "Lungs of Shillong". The event was graced by Maj CP Marak (Retd), Chairperson, Lokyuta, Meghalaya, and Mrs. H Lato, IFS, District Forest Officer, who attended the plantation drive as chief guests.

Through this initiative, 119 Inf Bn (TA) ASSAM reaffirms its dedication to environmental conservation and sustainability. The unit's efforts aim to promote a greener future and contribute to the well-being of the local community.
