The Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to begin from July 3, and the mock drill was aimed at bolstering safety measures ahead of the pilgrimage in Gurj division.

#GurjDivision conducted a Joint Military-Civil Liaison Conference with stakeholders from #Pathankot, #Kathua & #Samba to enhance #synergy and ensure seamless  coordination for a successful Amarnath Yatra and effective Flood Relief preparedness.

The Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to begin from July 3, and the mock drill was aimed at bolstering safety measures ahead of the pilgrimage, testing preparedness to respond to any emergency, like a flood or an accident. A whopping number of 4.5 million devotees visited Amarnath last year

. 

This is being done to implement preparedness measures and demonstrate the practical steps that need to be taken for a response. The idea is that if we face any such disaster in the future, Indian army are fully prepared.
